Hosting the 2020 BMW M3 Fall Meet and Cruise

For the past five years, I’ve hosted a special meet for BMW M3 owners, known as the Fall Meet and Cruise. Last year’s event was a great success. What started out as a simple meet with 15 cars has turned into a huge event with over 130 BMW M cars. I didn’t anticipate that turnout…

Getting rolling for the Fall Meet and Cruise

The designated starting point is in Edgewater, New Jersey, with a view of the New York City skyline right across the Hudson River. I chose it both for it’s central location from the NYC area, New Jersey, and even Pennsylvania. An early start time ensures mostly quiet roads and beautiful morning lighting.

Down the highway

I figured that owners would be wanting some rolling shots, so I got a friend to hop into the driver’s seat of my 335i. We lead the procession down River Road and past the George Washington Bridge to the Palisades Parkway. I choose this particular route because it’s interesting. Beautiful skyline views give way to lush fall foliage as we head up too Bear Mountain.

Despite arriving around 8:45 in the morning, Bear Mountain was already packed. Thankfully, some of my quick-thinking friends came up with a temporary solution – head over the Bear Mountain Bridge toward Peekskill, New York.

Finding an empty lot near the Peekskill Brewery, we we finally able to fit everyone in. We then proceeded to hang out and point at shiny metal for the better part of the morning.

I urge respect and responsibility for these events. If you feel the urge of the red mist calling, take it to the track. But for the most part, the BMW community continues to prove they are the best group of car owners in the world.

If you’d like to attend next year’s Fall Meet and Cruise, please contact me and I’ll be happy to add you to the list. Stay tuned for more, and thank you to everyone who made the trip!

If you see your car and would like the original high-res photo, please contact me.

Commissions may be received for product links on this site, so help out if you can. I only write about products I use and believe in.

I use Nikon camera bodies and lenses, a Westcott Ice Light 2, Manfrotto tripod, B + W filters and an iMac Pro to make the art you see here.
