MPACT is the best BMW show of the year

Car shows. Back in the day (pre-fast internet days), I’d love going to them. What was going to be there?! I never knew. Seeing an E60 M5 was rare and special. But now, they all blend together. Same cars. Same people. But there is one event I really do enjoy, and it’s this year’s MPACT 2022.

MPACT 2022 was different

MPACT is a great example of the car culture here on the east coast. Held at Pocono raceway, it’s one of the few shows that has the proper amount of space to showcase the cars. But it’s more than just static displays.

I know and love this track. The “tricky triangle” allows for roll racing, so it’s a great chance to line up with your buddy and his burble tune he’s always going on about. Egos are bruised, fun is had, and it’s all safe and legal.

Crowds fill the stands and gather on the line. When someone they know loses, there’s usually a loud roar. This all gives a great atmosphere, and allows for some interesting shots.

MPACT 2022 — Expect to see everything, including the rare M5 CS.

BMW Individual Intensity

BMW’s Individual program started to garner real attention about 10 years ago, and it’s now an almost required feature. At least a quarter of the cars on display were painted a special color, including the M5 I brought.

Friends share

BMWs have become very fast cars, and they naturally draw a crowd of like-minded enthusiasts from other brands. From plenty of Porches and Nissan GT-Rs, to a Lambo and Zupra, everyone is welcome with admiration.
