71% of you want to fix that Ferrari, and I’m on board for it. Tell you want – let’s keep the mid-engine fake-exotic theme this week, because I’m looking at C8 Corvette values, and…wait, how cheap are they?!
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette vs the 2023 Jaguar F-Type P450 Coupe
See the Jaaaaaaag listing here
I have a thing with “base” models. You’ve come so close, you’re in the right car, but it juuust doesn’t have the right powertrain. No one talks about a four-cylinder Supra, which is why they’ve stopped making it.
The C8 Corvette is much different. A V-8 with 500 horsepower. An eight-speed DCT. And yea – mid-engine. It’s a real deal sports car, no excuses. Brand new, you can option them into nearly the triple digits. But used? They are approaching less than $50k, fast.
Opting for this regular ol’ Corvette does present one big problem, and that’s walking past a Z06. On the surface it might seem like an easy decision. Both have the “same” powertrain – a V-8 with a DCT. But you already know the Z06 is special, and easily worth double a regular Corvette. Still, for the price it could be a helluva car.
What else can compete with a regular Corvette? Needs to be V-8. Let’s keep the top on. And it’s gotta be around the same price. Hmm…
The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette
Does this Kia dealer know what they have? I’m sure they do, it’s simply that Corvettes are now cheaper.
- $54,888
- 21,426 miles
- Eight-speed DCT
- You’d be the fourth owner from new
- Clean CarFax
- Arctic White over Adrenaline Red leather
- Pretty basic in its options (MSRP was just over $62k), but has what you need for fun.
And like, that’s it man. If you wait another year, I bet C8 Corvette values for examples like this start to touch $45k, and you’re getting a car that hits sixty in well under four seconds.
But you’d still be making an excuse at the Corvette/New Balance Dad Meetups on Saturdays at 4PM. Can we find another option for the price?
2023 Jaguar F-Type P450 Coupe
If you’re just looking for fun, for smiles, for poops and giggles instead of lap times and trophies, can I show you this F-TYPE?
- 5,000 miles
- Bid to $18,000 so far
- 5.0-liter supercharged V-8, rated at 444 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque
- Eight-speed automatic
- Santorini Black over Mars Red leather
- But it’s wrapped in baby butt blue. No other mods though
Just like our Vette, this F-TYPE isn’t the the full-on string bikini, simply a one-piece. The P575 has the same V-8 with 575 horsepower, but the 450 here sounds pretty much the same, and 444 horsepower isn’t anything to sneeze at. Plus the price – here’s one for $56k in British Racing Green. That’s right on top of our Vette.
Both of these sports cars comes highly rated by me, but you must be able to live with not having the Top Gun trophy, the champagne sprays, and the circling of crowds. Your life will be “Dude, I almost had you”, instead of “You never had me.”
So which base would you be happy with?
