I’m giving you permission to enjoy this Audi R8 V-10 Coupe

When can you enjoy a supercar like this Audi R8 V-10 Coupe? When you don't have to worry about the depreciation any more.

As I suspected, nearly 70% of you have no desire to pay six figures for a box on wheels. And can you imagine the urge to “save” it once you got it, taking it out only on the most perfect of days? We do that often, I suppose – saving cars. Wouldn’t you want to save a car like this Audi R8 V-10 Coupe?

Unless it was beyond the point of preciousness.

I like to feature cars that are currently available, so I’m never really sure what I’ll find when I go “shopping”. And at first, this R8 doesn’t seem all that special. I mean, it’s a V-10 and that’s nice, but it’s not a manual like the first gen car was. White on black is great for a 540i, but not a supercar. Yup…nothing to see here. Next.

But what’s this? 70,000 miles? A gross-looking interior? Two accidents on record? Now we’re talkin’ – we can daily it without fear of depreciation or ruination.

If only there was some sort of direct comparison…ah yes, the Huracan! It’s pretty much the same car. Do they get beat on as well?

You already know the answer.

Whomever spec’d this R8 probably only like Missionary, because it looks like a rental car. But beggars can’t be choosers.

  • 70,000 miles
  • White (not even Metallic) over black leather. Does have silver side blades. Yay.
  • Mild mods – straight-piped, stage two tune, tints.
  • Damage to the front, left side and rear – fixed. You know my PPI rule.
  • The interior is gross. Needs a good AMMO bath.
  • Right now, bid to $55,000

Now don’t get the wrong idea – $55,000 is still a lot of money, and it’ll likely go for more. Here’s another 2017 Audi R8 V10 Coupe that sold for $115k with 21,000 miles on it, as an example of what they usually go for.

But if you’ve always wanted an R8 with the big motor, here’s a rare chance to enjoy it without any of the guilt of using it. Is there anything else even close?

Huracan
Good from far, but far from good.

This isn’t the sort of pedigree you’d find on the auction sites…

  • 56,517 miles
  • $164,995
  • For sale in…Newark, NJ! I’m sure it’s got a clean title.
  • The dealer has 66k followers on Instagram, so that’s something
  • But the car has two unlisted accidents.
  • Verde Mantis over black leather/Alcantara
  • Two previous owners

I wouldn’t touch this car with your fingers while your friend pushes. But this is the lowest-priced Huracan in the country, unless you want this example with a bite out of its bumper (and still over $100k).

One last point – how much is a badge worth? Because you can get that pristine R8 20k-mile (or one like it, that one’s sold) for nearly $50,000 less. It’s the same model year, with the same engine, minus the loud color and moo cow on the front hood.

So can you drive a dented super car and enjoy it without your OCD taking over?
