Never miss a new car review!

The world has become a fickle place, with short attention spans. Thanks Instagram. But our favorite TV shows, YouTube content, movies, and yes, the articles on this site – they take monumental effort to produce. As a way to memorialize some of my work, I’ve decided to publish my first book: Manhattan Machines: Capturing Cars In The City That Hates Them.

You can order it here.

Here’s a preview…

Be excited.

What is Manhattan Machines?

I absolutely, 100% hate traveling in and around New York City. Commuting from the age of 18, burning through daily drivers because of the wear and tear. The expense. The smell.

And yet, it presents a an interesting challenge when making automotive art.

Shooting in and around the city with a car is not always a good time. If you’re from here, you know the drill. Random street closures. Crowds rubbernecking. Police. But the reward is almost always worth it.

And Manhattan Machines is filled with rewards. It is the result of years of hard work and dedication to the craft of automotive photography.

Am I in the book?

The book is 132 pages, full color, printed on 100# premium paper. Some of the images have been remastered by me to ensure they are beautifully reproduced for the book.

Maybe! Manhattan Machines features shots both in and around New York, including Staten Island, Brooklyn, even as far as Sandy Hook. It’s heavy on BMW, but also features many press cars from other brands.

Larry Kosilla of AMMONYC was also kind enough to write the foreword, a dude that knows a thing or two about cars in Manhattan.

A note on pricing

When you purchase a book, you are in essence buying me a cup of coffee. That’s it. 99% of the cost comes from self-publishing on Blurb’s platform.

I might have a few copies on me for purchase if you see me out and about. Also, Blurb often runs sales in their bookstore, so be sure to sign up for their mailing list.

It features 100# lustrous paper, is 132 pages in length, and measures 8×10 inches – a nice coffee table book and conversation piece.

Thank you

I say it all the time, but Machines With Souls is not possible without your continued support. The site has grown from its inception, and continues to do so because you email me questions, volunteer your sweet, sweet rides, let me into your shops and on your tracks, and always indulge my vision.

I hope this book inspires you to go for a drive.

Special thanks to Larry, Eric and Pierre at FMI, and all the owners featured in this book.

Finally, thanks to my wife Corryn and daughter Madison. They allow me to pursue a dream and selflessly wake up at 5 AM on a Sunday to explore New York in a silent Hummer. I love you both.
